Why Tease is necessary for the AI Influencer future

The future is looking pretty weird

If you go on Fanvue, Twitter, and even Instagram, you will find “people” who are fully generated by AI. For example, AI influencers like Lil Miquela and Aitana Lopez have millions of real followers and they secure major brand deals. Brands are drawn to them because they offer complete control over messaging and are available 24/7, eliminating the risks associated with human error or scandal. These digital personas are often crafted to be visually perfect and can be adapted instantly to fit any trend. Heck, I even thought about creating an AI influencer to jumpstart Tease.

The soulless machine

Soon I think there will be a flood of AI influencers as the tools to create them become more mainstream. If you go on Reddit’s r/passiveincome page, you’ll find many people asking how to make one of these influencers. This will be a race to the bottom with generic personalities and content. AI influencers lack the genuine experiences, emotions, and even the “messiness” that allows human influencers to build deep, trust-based relationships with their audience. And to be honest, if I were to pretend to be an AI influencer, I would probably fail because I’m definitely not interesting enough. For AI influencers, while you can program a backstory and personality traits, it often comes across as scripted, true personality is revealed in spontaneous interactions, something AI struggles to replicate authentically. Research shows that while AI can generate high engagement, human influencers build stronger emotional connections and trust.

How Tease can be used

The biggest misconception in this space is that fans want a perfectly scripted AI personality. They don’t. What fans crave is genuine attention from the creator they admire. They want to feel seen, valued, and connected to the real person. The problem is that genuine attention is a finite resource. Visuals and “beauty” can now easily created, but “personalities” and how we respond is a far more complex issue. Large Language Models are molds for genuine personalities. And you can see this with people who use Replikas, Nomis, or Kindroids to chat and build a deep personality with memory for their AI tools. Tease in this case is not only for creators who already produce their own content but also for AI creators who need deeper personalities and engagement with their fans. We will have a world where “beauty” and “appearance” are no longer the gatekeepers that attract fans but genuine 1:1 connections.

The AI is just a conduit that handles the exhausting logistics of communication so the creator’s true, authentic personality can be deployed where it matters most.
